Sunday 11th June .... Race Report

On a sunny Sunday the streets of Ringwood Town witnessed an epic struggle to rival anything seen at Silverstone  the same day. Forget your Hamiltons and Buttons, think instead of the Ringwood Brewery 'Boondoggle Deck Chair' challenging the might of the fleetest pedal cars in the country in the 2010 British Pedal Car Grand Prix.

The car, driven by a team of elite athletes drawn from all four corners of the brewery yard, was fashioned on a seaside deckchair. The team took its inspiration from the thought of avoiding hard graft and replacing it with an altogether more enjoyable and less stressful activity, (a boondoggle). They, along with the 15000 or so spectators found refreshment at the Boondoggle Bar situated half way round the one mile course, and further demonstrated their dedication and training, to the delight of the crowd,in the smooth handing over of doughnuts to the driver during the 30 mile race.

Such was the success of the event that plans are already afoot for next year and development work has begun on Boondoggle Deckchair II. Watch this space!
