From the 17th to the 23rd May' Swanage will host the first of a new' and major annual festival held in' and around the town.
Ringwood Brewery is proud to announce that we have agreed to be the headline sponsor for this exciting event
Through enactments and costume' street markets' sporting events' a
Victorian Fair' music' and entertainment' Victorian Swanage will celebrate the rich heritage for which the town is famed.
The promenade' beach and pier will all reflect again the character that made it a must for the holiday makers of the Victorian era.
There are ambitious plans to recreate' the symbolic first train to leave Swanage on the 20th May 1885 on the historic Swanage Steam Railway' and the iconic and romantic railway journey to the seaside enjoyed by the people of London and the North. This train will run a regular service on the beautiful reconstructed line' between Swanage and its terminal at
Norden.
As in the rest of the town and at all the events' costumes on the railway will reflect the period' so pull on your breeches' bustles' bonnets and boaters and join us at the Victorian Swanage Festival – where incidentally' there will be ample opportunities to enjoy your favourite Ringwood Ale
